Winters dry since repair
The problem
A recurring lounge ceiling stain that returned every winter despite three previous 'repairs' by other trades — each one sealant applied above the stain.
The diagnosis
Water testing traced the ingress to a corroded valley tray eight metres upslope from the stain. Water was tracking along a purlin before dropping at a joint above the lounge.
The repair
Valley tiles lifted, corroded tray replaced with a new folded valley to code, underlay repaired, tiles re-bedded and re-pointed along the valley line.
The result
Completely dry through two consecutive winters, confirmed at a follow-up maintenance visit. Interior repainted with confidence.
“One repair, two winters dry. Should have called them first.”
